The Haywain, RHS Hyde Hall
This is a Classic Essex hay wagon unchanged in design since John Constable painted one at Flatford Mill. Many of these carts were up-ended as improvised road blocks when invasion threatened in 1940. After the War farming practices changed and most rotted away or were burned.
