TF3244 : Witham Bank East, Boston
Boston, Lincolnshire, Great Britain

Witham Bank East, Boston
Looking northwards under the bridge towards the marina. Easy to see from this point that the railway bridge was once dual track. The line runs from Grantham to Skegness. The bridge stands above the River Witham on six piers; two sets of three. The traffic light is in charge of the Grand Sluice Lock, which is just out of sight. The two boards - one announces river and sea trips, by charter boat and the other, an information board, the 'Story of the Fens'. The information signpost directs us to the Town Centre, Visitors Centre and Sustrans Cycle Track. The two boards on it tell us, for our safety, not to fish within 50m of the lock and not to swim. A CCTV camera keeps a check on things.
