Bandstand. Carfax
Bandstand. Carfax
Erected in 1892 in the main market area of the town. The road name Carfax derives from the latin quadrifurcus which means four-forked of which two have survived in this country, one here and the other in Oxford. The buildings behind the bandstand are known as Richmond Terrace and were erected in the 1840s.
