NM8682 : Picnic boulder

Picnic boulder
If you follow the Allt Feith a' Chatha beyond the end of the bulldozed track, where the mapped path to Kinlochbeoraid is vestigial, you will encounter this rock, just large enough for tea for two. White jacket, red bow tie, don't you think? Long purple frock? And a midge machine if it's summer and calm. You might think such rocks would be common, but no. It has clearly been dropped here, out in the valley floor, by a glacier, but without an erratic's usual rounding of the edges. So it fell off a nearby cliff, and was placed just so.
