View towards Hambleton Quarry
Hambleton Quarry was one of several to the east of Skipton extracting limestone from steeply dipping beds. The main advantage of the site was its proximity to the Ilkley - Skipton railway line, now a tourist line between Embsay and Bolton Abbey, but still used for quarry traffic at its western end.
