SZ5881 : Shanklin Station
Shanklin, Isle of Wight, Great Britain

Shanklin Station
A train from Ryde arrives at Shanklin's single remaining platform where it will terminate. The former London Underground trains used on this line date back to the 1930s and are, by some margin, the oldest vehicles in regular service on the National Rail network. It is a tribute to their robustness and the skills of the island's railway staff that they continue to provide an intensive all-year round service, although the ride quality is hardly up to modern standards.
