Whitechapel: The East London Mosque
Whitechapel: The East London Mosque
Plans for a mosque to be built to serve East London's Muslim community date back to 1910, and various buildings were used until the current mosque was built here, on the south side of Whitechapel Road, between 1982 and 1985. The mosque's website, including a full history, is here LinkExternal link .

A year on from Danny's TQ3481 : East London Mosque and London Muslim Centre and about the only visible change is that the crane on the skyline has changed its position! An aircraft bound for Heathrow is just visible to the right of the minaret.
