SE7326 : Main opening span of Boothferry bridge

taken 12 years ago, near to Airmyn, East Riding of Yorkshire, Great Britain

Main opening span of Boothferry bridge
Main opening span of Boothferry bridge
The bridge was built in the late 1920's. Control room on top is a 1970s (?) addition.

Bridge still swings several times a day for river traffic - particularly Fuel Oil deliveries to Drax power station and grain barges to Westmill Foods at Selby.

The bridge can swing either way - either up or down river.
