Just beyond the bridge is the junction with the Brindley canal - the original Birmingham to Wolverhampton route which almost followed the contours. The Telford (the canal shown) and the Brindley canals rejoin just east of Bromford Lane Oldbury, near the Sandwell & Dudley railway station.
