SK8037 : A circular walk from Redmile, (22)
near to Bottesford, Leicestershire, Great Britain

A circular walk from Redmile, (22)
At this bend in the Grantham Canal the lie of the land is very clear. The field to the right is quite a bit higher than the canal while the water level is higher than the tow path and the fields to the left. Also note the amount of duckweed present in this May 2008 shot while the older photograph shows a canal free of weed in October 2005, see SK8037 : The disused Grantham Canal near Bottesford, Leicestershire.
To follow this walk of about 6 miles along the canal and public footpaths, park in the village of Redmile somewhere near the Peacock Inn and walk north west out of the village to the bridge where you can gain access to the tow path. Photographs taken along the length of the walk are collected here: Link
