SX4453 : A Riot of Red Campion
Torpoint, Cornwall, Great Britain

A Riot of Red Campion
Red Campion (Silene dioica) is a common wild flower and can be seen flowering all summer from May to September. Red Campion normally prefers hedgerows, roadsides and dappled shade which makes this display, where it has taken over as the dominant vegetation in a sunny corner of a pasture field, very unusual. For a close-up view of the flowers see SX4453 : Red Campion close-up
