Horkstow Grange
Horkstow Grange
The farmyard at Horkstow Grange, looking east from the B1204 near the parish boundary between Horkstow and Saxby All Saints. Horkstow Grange was also the name of the band Steeleye Span's fifteenth album released in 1998. Steeleye Span took the name of this album and the name of their band from a traditional English song in which a character called Steeleye Span had a fight with an old miser who lived at Horkstow Grange. This folk song, also called Horkstow Grange, had been collected and recorded by Percy Aldridge Grainger in around 1906 or 1908.
