The flower bed provides a friendly introduction to the course and gives an opportunity to settle the nerves. The fence is in the main arena. The Three Day Event, or Concours Complet (Complete Competition), is a comprehensive test of the all round ability of a horse and rider. It was originally a military event. Taking the first fence is Olivia Haddow (GBR) riding Patris Filius.
