taken 18 years ago, near to Livingston Village, West Lothian, Scotland
Frost returns.
The temperature falls rapidly at dusk in anticyclonic winter weather. Clear air allows heat to radiate into space, and once the sun drops below the horizon it gets cold. Here in a hollow in Livingston Old Wood, just outside the original village of Livingston the frost had not left the ground during the day.
The bridge carrying Eliburn Parkway across the burn and the parkland glen can just be seen. Beyond to the south is Livingston Village.
