Former coal barge, Antrim
See J3473 : St George's Harbour, Belfast (1). One of the former barges used to bring coal to Belfast gasworks was converted for use in dredging for sand in Lough Neagh. After a long period of disuse it has been restored and will, eventually, become an “interpretive centre” at Ram’s Island. For the record the barge carried the number JK16. For the present it is berthed in the Sixmilewater at Antrim.
