Woodland boundary
Woodland boundary
Behind the viewpoint and on the left there is a gate into the woodland and a footpath that forms part of Lady Spencer’s Walk.

The broken line of trees coming in from the right and crossing the photograph is the route of what was once the main drive to Hardwick Hall (left, south-westerly) from the village of Rowthorne (right, north-easterly).

To see a photograph from approximately the same viewpoint but facing southerly (rotated some 100° clockwise), click here SK4664 : Lady Spencer’s Walk.
