SE0691 : Old flue line above Preston
near to Preston-Under-Scar, North Yorkshire County, Great Britain

Old flue line above Preston
This faint line in the grass marks the line of the 2 mile long flue which ran from Preston smelt mill to the Cobscar chimney [visible in the distance]. The remains of the flue are clearly seen in squares SE0791, SE0592 etc, but here it is not well defined. One wonders if the flue still exists below the surface, or if it was above surface and has been destroyed.
