Boer War Memorial on Coombe Hill
Boer War Memorial on Coombe Hill
The memorial was unveiled in 1904, in memory of the men from Buckinghamshire who had died in the Boer War. Standing some 257 metres (843 feet) above sea level (about 3m lower than the summit of the hill) on the edge of steep escarpment, it can be seen from a great distance.
