Grazing pony on the slopes of Lodge Hill, New Forest
Grazing pony on the slopes of Lodge Hill, New Forest
This pony is grazing on land which used to be part of the Ashely Walk keeper's lodge, northeast of the Pitts Wood Inclosure. When the area was used as a bombing range during the Second World War the building was left to ruin, and after the war it was demolished. Now the grounds are an unusual area of grass in a heathland setting.
