NN8121 : Dyke

taken 13 years ago, near to Quoig, Perth And Kinross, Great Britain

Looking east. This dyke is next to an embankment for a disused railway line (seen on the left of the picture). It runs in a big loop south and east from NN 812222 to 821219. It appears to be older than the railway line because it is broken where it crosses the line. Perhaps it protected the land from flooding by the River Earn? Sir David Baird's Monument NN8221 : Sir David Baird Monument is visible on the skyline.
