TF3469 : Leper window

near to Hagworthingham, Lincolnshire, Great Britain

Leper window
Leper window
Small north facing low window in Holy Trinity church, it may have been a leper window as the card suggests, more likely an early survival from the Norman church. Oblique apertures to enable worshippers in the aisles to see the service, usually called a squint or hagioscope are commonly called 'Leper windows' ....perhaps erroneously.
