3 km from Redesdale Camp, Northumberland, Great Britain

Corby Pike - Trig Pillar S7922
A dull overcast April Saturday on Corby Pike. These moors are on MoD land and are part of the Otterburn and Redesdale ranges. Access to this area is restricted to non firing days - information available on the internet. On Corby Pike, the trig pillar was completed on 10th March 1954 costing £26.4s.0d. It was computed for triangulation as a second order station in 1957, levelled in 1958 and last maintained by the OS in May 1978. In 2008, the pillar is still in good condition. The surrounding moorlands were very boggy.
