Well Trimmed Monterey Pine
Much planted on both Tresco and St Mary's in the 19th century as they have reached maturity these trees do not deal with Scillonian storms well.
The start of the decline seemed to be the frosts which hit Scilly one winter in the late '80's - For a couple of days Scilly was the coldest place in the UK, and its very rare for them to experience even a ground-frost.
