NG2157 : Isay - the main village

taken 16 years ago, 4 km SW of Halistra, Isle of Skye, Scotland

Isay - the main village
Isay - the main village
The island had a population of 90 in 1841, mostly subsisting by fishing and burning kelp. There are no streams on the island, let alone lochs. Water must have been a problem.

It was at one time owned by the singer Donovan.
