Glebe Cairn, Kilmartin
One of many ancient sites in this area. The Historic Scotland plaque in the foreground has the following information: "Excavated many years ago, this is a typical burial cairn of the Bronze Age (about 1700 - 1500BC). Under the centre of the cairn two stone cists or boxes were placed for the burials. These contained pottery food vessels and in one was found a necklace of jet beads".
