Buildwas Abbey - Nave
Buildwas Abbey (pronounced Builders I believe) was originally a Savignac monastery founded in 1135 by Roger de Clinton, Bishop of Chester.
In 1147 it came under Cistercian rule when the Savignacs united with them. The abbey was dissolved by Henry VIII in about 1538.
