Hedge Woundwort, Moles Lane
Stachys sylvatica is a common wayside plant, noteworthy for the pungent smell of its leaves. "Hedge Woundwort has been used for staunching blood. The leaves are antiseptic. The herbalist, Gerard, called it Clown’s All Heal and suggested pounding the leaves with hog’s grease and applying the mixture to wounds." (Link
) I would imagine it has been used in many other medical ways in the past.
