South of Condover, between the village of Frodesley and the A49 near All Stretton, is a very straight road, a former Roman road, running south from the Roman town of Viroconium, or Wroxeter. There are two fords on this road, about half a mile apart. This is the first and it has been culverted, but some water manages to runs across the road.
