NT1750 : Esker, Halmyre

near to Halmyre Mains, Scottish Borders, Great Britain

Esker, Halmyre.
Esker, Halmyre.
The area around West Linton is rich in glacial deposition scenery. Sandy mopunds and hollows abound. This looks like the end of an esker; it's a long feature running to the south off picture. Formed from sands and gravels dropped by a stream running on or in a glacier.
