Foxtor Mires looking north-west from close to Childe's Tomb. The TV mast on North Hessary Tor can be seen on the left of the picture. This area, at the head of the Swincombe River, was supposedly the model for Conan Doyle's Grimpen Mire in "The Hound of the Baskervilles".
