Grimspound
Grimspound
Grimspound is what remains of a Bronze Age settlement consisting of a perimeter wall enclosing an area of about four acres containing around two dozen hut circles. As the site would not have been in a good defensive position, being overlooked from the surrounding hills, the theory is that it was not a fortification but was occupied by a farming community with the walls having been built to keep out marauding animals.
