Maule Memorial Church
Maule Memorial Church
This was formerly the Free Church serving Glen Esk. It was built in 1857 by Robert Dinnie to a design by Liverpool architects J, JW and W H Hay on ground given for the purpose by Fox Maule Ramsay, second Earl of Panmure and first Earl of Dalhousie, to his friend Dr Thomas Guthrie (1803-1873), one of the leaders of the Free Church of Scotland after the Disruption of 1843. The stained glass windows were restored in the 1990s.
