Rainster Rocks near to Brassington
On the left of the photo below the rocks is the site of a Romano-British settlement. There are earthworks and the remains of a road. The ridge and furrow is the remains of the early field systems, the lines of which can be seen in the adjacent fields running through the stone walls which are the result of later enclosures.
