This bridleway is part of a route from Brund in Staffordshire (ahead) to Pilsbury in Derbyshire (behind the viewpoint).

It is possible that this bridleway may once have been a packhorse route.
Certainly this, the lower section was, carrying a packhorse route from Pilsbury bridge (now a ford) to Sheen.
The route to Sheen leaves this bridleway a short distance ahead (approximately where the track disappears from view).

Just behind the viewpoint and to the right the bridleway comes close to the SK1163 : River Dove.
