This ford crosses the River Dove on the Staffordshire/Derbyshire border by Pilsbury in Derbyshire.
This is part of a SK1163 : Bridleway in the Upper Dove Valley from Brund in Staffordshire (right, behind the viewpoint) to Pilsbury (left, ahead).

It is possible that this bridleway may once have been a packhorse route.
Certainly this, the lower section was, carrying a packhorse route from Pilsbury bridge (now this ford) to Sheen.

Just behind the viewpoint a bridge carries foot traffic over the River Dove for the less intrepid traveller.
