John Webb's Windmill
John Webb's Windmill
In 1804, local farmer John Webb already owned the local brick & tile works and The Swan public house, and built himself a windmill. It stopped working in 1907 and fell into disrepair, though resurrected as a Scout and Youth Centre in the 1930s. By the 1950s it was derelict again and remained so until rescued in 1970, since when, an extensive restoration programme has returned the mill to its former glory.
