This road leads to the village of Hardingham. The village of Hardingham, which in 2005 won the Pride in Norfolk Award for villages with a population of less than 500, is made up of a number of small hamlets and groups of houses. The village sign > LinkExternal link depicts St George's church > LinkExternal link - set back from Church Road and about two kilometres distant, and the destroyed watermill which was also located some distance from the village. The mill was purchased by an American film company and featured as one of the locations for the shooting of the film 'The Shuttered Room', starring Oliver Reed and Dame Flora Robson. The final scenes required the setting alight of the mill and the building was hence burnt to the ground. The village also has a railway station: periodically served by heritage services operated by the Mid-Norfolk Railway the station is generally closed to the public.
