The mill was purchased by an American film company and featured as one of the locations for the shooting of the film 'The Shuttered Room', starring Oliver Reed and Dame Flora Robson. The final scenes required the setting alight of the mill and the building was hence burnt to the ground. The village also has a railway station: periodically served by heritage services operated by the Mid-Norfolk Railway the station is generally closed to the public.
