The interior at Kirkton is unusual in that the main seating for the congregation is arranged parallel to the long sides of the building, facing the pulpit which is mounted on the south wall. A plan to remove the north gallery and realign the furnishings with the pulpit moved to the more normal east end was rejected in 1911.
