Church of St John the Evangelist, Shirley CR0
The diocesan website has this to say about the parish:
"The parish is situated in a middle class 'leafy' suburb. There is no Council housing within it. Attendance is good at 10am on Sundays, but early, late and mid-week attendances are poor. Most wives work part-time to keep up the standard of living they desire. We believe that the most effective aspect of mission is contact with the local community, and members are encouraged to be active in local affairs and events. There are many retired pensioners living locally but the proportion is changing gradually as younger executives move in."
