A deep combe, of the sort that is the despair of coast path ramblers, drops down to SX9151 : Scabbacombe Sands below this triangular wood on its southern slopes. Seen from the line (according to the 1:25000) of a permissive link path between the coastal path and a car park on Scabbacombe Lane, although on the ground the path is waymarked along the northern side of the field.
