View from Stake House Fell
Frozen tarn in foreground Clougha Pike on the horizon. The fell is the scene of an RAF plane crash at the time of the Berlin Airlift. It is said that flares from the crash site were found and taken to a nearby farm as they had silk parachutes on them. They exploded and caused a serious injury or perhaps a fatality to those handling them.
