This gated lane runs between Swallerton Gate and Manaton; here it crosses open moor on the gentle western slopes of Hayne Down, gradually descending to the Hayne Brook valley The gorse, bracken and hawthorn hide many cows and sheep. The hill ahead is Easdon Down in SX7282 / SX7382.
