Approaching Blaenau
Approaching Blaenau
A Ffestiniog Railway train nears the station at Blaenau. The locomotive is the relatively new (built 1979) "Earl of Merioneth". Originally oil fired, it has recently been converted to coal firing, as have most steam locomotives on the line. With the current price of oil, I bet they're glad they did!
