The 'new' Breachacha Castle
The 'new' Breachacha Castle
This is the 18th century castle; the old castle, now restored, must have been too uncomfortable. This immense building is now also being restored. Built in 1750 for Hector Mclean, it was in this 'new' castle that Dr Johnson and Mr Boswell stayed on their 10 day enforced stay on Coll.
