Water Rail Way, Bardney
Water Rail Way, Bardney
I was walking the former railway track in the direction of Bardney, admiring the countryside. It was cloudy to the west and there was a very strong wind blowing from that direction. Breaks in the cloud were rare, but as I came to a gap in the hedgerow, a burst of sunlight headed to the east and I took a few shots in that direction. Without realising it, I was actually photographing an area I was eventually to end up at, Abbey Farm. The green shed (hardly visible in this shot) in the distance belongs there. It shows up on maps.live.com, but not the Planning Portal, which is rather strange, unless they don’t record that sort of construction.
There were a few people about, either cycling, walking, or jogging.
Abbey Farm kindly provides access to the ruins of Bardney Abbey.
