Highfield Farm, Old Bolingbroke
The farm stands on Spilsby Hill. The road climbs up the edge of The Wolds out of Old Bolingbroke and on to Mavis Enderby.
The photograph was taken from inside the Sow Dale Nature Reserve. There is a very small walk through the Reserve. It used to extend through to here Link but now there is a restricted area in the middle, which is a shame as it was a really nice walk with the option to carry on to Hagworthingham and beyond.
Note – Sow Dale is steep walk and you are likely to get chased by cows, as did I. There is a notice warning of a bull with cows, but they were nowhere to be seen, though there are places where the animals can be hidden from view. What is not mentioned is that there are calves as well and I was trapped between both and had to hot leg it into a very marshy area and got stuck there. I was unable to get back to the entrance to the Reserve and had to climb back in the opposite direction and find another way out.
