Under the Red Cone
In these tunnels under the glassworks cone a team of men tended the coal powered furnace that was kept continuously at 1250C twenty four hours a day for years on end. The furnace was finally shut down in 1936.
The cone is the only survivor from the glassmaking industry in Stourbridge and Brierley Hill.
