The Lovat Bridge and a sunken Boat on the River Beauly
The Lovat Bridge and a sunken Boat on the River Beauly
When I worked there we had to take every boat down the river to this pointand let them dry out, remove all the paint back to the wood then calk all the cracks , paint them and then tar the bottom of them, we then sunk each boat for a few weeks to get the wood to swell up and make them water tight. they were old boat then and I think that I would have painted this one a few times.
The Bridge was a bit tight when you met a lorry. You just shut your eyes at the last minute and hoped for the best.
