Linear moorings stretch out of sight eastwards along the Leeds & Liverpool Canal between Ormskirk and Scarisbrick. Such moorings are unpopular with boaters, who are asked to slow down as they pass to avoid rocking them with their wash. British Waterways is actively working to have more off-line marinas built to provide alternative moorings.
