SO5372 : The Serpent

taken 12 years ago, near to Ashford Carbonell, Shropshire, Great Britain

The Serpent.
The Serpent.
A former pub, possibly a victim of Ashford Carbonel's little experiment with prohibition, there had been attempts to reopen over the years but the licencing authorities would have none of it. Too far from the village.
The surrounding scattered hamlet was once known as Ashford Jones, a name that had disappeared from common usage before I was born.
